From Nankei Pottery, established in 1913, we bring you a teapot with a simple, linear design, born from its rich history and exquisite craftsmanship. This teapot features a shallow and wide shape that allows green tea leaves to expand freely, making it ideal for brewing tea for one to four people. The unglazed interior, revealing the clay's fine texture, softens the astringency of the tea, enhancing its smooth and delicious flavor. The teapot from Nankei Pottery, a bearer of Japanese traditional techniques, holds more than the value of mere tableware; it is a product of over a century of kiln history and the skilled hands of artisans. Enjoy special moments with this item that combines beautiful design and practicality.

Description

Crafted from high-iron content clay and fired at high temperatures, this durable teapot withstands daily use and prevents the flavors of different teas from mingling, allowing you to enjoy a variety of teas. Its simple yet sophisticated design naturally integrates into any kitchen or dining space.

Nankei Pottery manages all production processes in-house and handcrafts each teapot. It undergoes a production process of about 1.5 months, including biscuit firing, glost firing, fitting, and quality inspection, giving each teapot a unique character. Enjoy a peaceful tea time with this teapot, which grows more endearing with use.

Instruction for Use

Built-in Tea Strainer Teapot Cautions

  • The strainer is very thin and prone to damage if it comes into contact with other dishes or is pressed too hard. Handle with care.
  • If washing in a dishwasher, there is a risk of damage depending on the conditions. Hand washing is recommended.
  • After using the tea leaves, rinse them quickly with water or hot water, drain well, and dry. Occasionally drying in the sun can be more hygienic.
  • If concerned about tea stains, soaking overnight in a diluted solution of oxygen-based bleach for dishes can clean it effectively. Ensure it is rinsed thoroughly to prevent any odor and dried well.

About Stoneware

  • Use a neutral detergent for washing. Do not use abrasive sponges, metal scrubbers, or cleansers as they may damage the surface.
  • The clay contains iron powder, which may result in black spots on the surface but enjoy this as part of the product's texture.
  • As with the tea strainer, washing in a dishwasher may pose a risk of damage, so hand washing is recommended.
