Product Introduction

This is a matte black, flat, 6-inch (approximately 15cm) round plate with a rim, ideal for use as a dessert or appetizer plate. Made from the same clay as our standard black clay products, it is designed to complement our Sencha teapot series with its sharp look. The plate features a slightly modern design with its straight lines. Its matte, unglazed surface, which does not use any glaze, will develop a richer texture with use.

Features

The surface is finished to retain the marks of the trowel, adding expressiveness. The absence of glaze lets the user appreciate the raw vigor of the clay worked by the artisan. Since it doesn't absorb water, it doesn't retain odors, though oils may remain on the surface, giving it a wet, darker appearance. With use, it becomes more familiar and its color settles. It is stackable for storage.

About Stoneware 

• Please use a mild detergent for washing. Do not use abrasive sponges, metallic scrubbers, or cleansers as they may damage the product. The clay used contains iron particles, which may appear as black spots on the surface, but please enjoy these as part of the product's texture.
• The product is designed to highlight the natural texture of the clay, which can be prone to oil stains. However, applying detergent and gently scrubbing with a brush can clean it effectively. If washed in a dishwasher, depending on usage, there may be a risk of damage. Hand washing is recommended.
• Safe for use in refrigerators and freezers. However, sudden temperature changes can cause damage. Please handle with care.
• The orange parts on the white clay products are the result of minerals in the ceramic clay reacting during firing; this is a natural color from the minerals and not from any added coloring or mixing of different clays. Rest assured.
