This is a sleek teacup made using the same clay as our classic white lacquer product, designed to complement the sencha teapot series. It features a somewhat modern design with straight lines. Moreover, the matte surface of the unglazed finish, which also does not use any glaze, will develop a richer patina the more it is used.
Black is created by lightly firing a clay that is dense and impermeable, resulting in a durable product. Its matte texture is distinctive, lacking the smooth touch of glaze. Since the clay used is non-absorbent, there is no concern about odors transferring. White is a revival of a white clay called "hakudei" that was produced in the Showa period, recreated with a new formula.
With use, it becomes glossier and more expressive, but if stains are a concern, soaking it overnight in a diluted bleach solution can make it easier to clean.

About Stoneware
Please use a neutral detergent for washing. Do not use sponges with abrasives, metal scourers, or cleansers as they may damage the surface. The raw materials include iron powder in the clay, which may result in black spots on the surface, but this is part of the product's character. There is a possibility of damage if washed in a dishwasher depending on usage conditions. Hand washing individually is recommended.
