International Shipping

Most orders are processed within 5 business days (excluding weekends and holidays) after receiving your order confirmation email although this cannot be guaranteed. Please note that shipping may take longer than 5 business days if the products are back-ordered or pre-ordered.

We offer international shipping to the following countries: the United States of America, Canada, Australia, the European Economic Area (EEA), and the United Kingdom (UK).

Shipping charges for your order will be calculated and displayed at checkout.

Shipping Carrier

Millennium Gallery ships internationally directly from Japan with FedEx, DHL, UPS or EMS. The standard shipping time is usually between 3-7 days for international shipping. Please note, however, that the shipping and delivery dates are estimates only and cannot be guaranteed. We are not liable for any delay in shipments.

Title and risk of loss of your order will pass to you upon delivery to the carrier.

Import Taxes & Custom Fees

The following information explains the duty‑ and tax‑exemption thresholds and other important notes for shipments from Japan to each destination country.

In all cases, customers are responsible for paying any customs handling fees applicable to their order, for providing any documents required by the destination country’s customs authorities, and for covering any additional charges (such as sales tax, import duties, and carrier fees).

We understand that customs charges can be a concern; please rest assured that when you shop at Millennium Gallery Japan, you are receiving genuine, uniquely crafted Japanese products of the highest quality—objects truly worth any additional fees. To help you enjoy a worry‑free shopping experience, please refer to the information below.

For Customers in the United States

  • For orders shipped from Japan with a total value of USD 800 or less, import duties are waived under the U.S. “de minimis” rule. As of the end of April 2025, pursuant to Federal Register notice Sec. 3.(h) on reciprocal tariff measures, the de minimis threshold remains applicable to goods imported from Japan.
  • Orders exceeding USD 800 may be subject to import taxes or duties as determined by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
  • In accordance with international customs regulations, you may not split a single order into multiple shipments solely for the purpose of avoiding import duties. If you wish to remain below the USD 800 threshold, please consider placing separate orders each under USD 800; each order will be processed and shipped independently, with its own tracking number.

For Customers in Australia

  • Orders with a total value under AUD 1,000 are classified as “low-value imports” by the Australian Border Force.
  • Since July 1, 2018, import duties may apply to goods shipped to Australia. For the most current information on duty rates and exemption conditions, please consult the Australian Border Force website.

For Customers in Canada

  • Orders valued at CAD 20 or less are generally exempt from duties and import taxes.
  • Orders exceeding CAD 20 may incur applicable duties and Goods and Services Tax (GST). For up-to-date duty rates and exemption thresholds, please refer to the Canada Border Services Agency website.

For Customers in the European Union (EU)

  • When shipping to the EU, both the product value and shipping charges are included in the calculation of VAT and import duties. You are responsible for paying the VAT and duties assessed on the total amount, plus any carrier handling fees. We also recommend consulting the customs websites of individual EU member states—and for regions such as Germany or the United Kingdom—for more detailed guidance.

For Customers in the United Kingdom

  • As with the EU, taxes on UK-bound orders are calculated on the total order value (product price plus shipping), but the exemption thresholds and duty rates may differ from those in the EU. For the latest information on thresholds and rates, please visit the UK government’s customs and tax authority website.

General Notice

  • All customers are responsible for any customs handling fees, the submission of documentation required by their country’s customs authorities, and payment of sales taxes, import duties, and carrier fees.
    • When using carriers such as DHL, UPS, or FedEx, you will typically receive an invoice a few days after delivery.
    • When using EMS (Japan Post), fees are generally collected at the time of delivery.
  • Customs exemption thresholds, duty rates, and import regulations are subject to change. If you are unsure of the current thresholds or rates for your destination, please consult your local tax authority’s website or seek advice from a qualified customs specialist.
